2015 Summerfest kicks off with a walking parade on the B-Line starting at Cardinal Spirits from 12-2 PM and the festival will be from 2-11 PM at Fourth Street and College.
Walking Parade Details:
Everybody is invited to participate in the walking parade! Strollers, roller blades/skates, wagons, hobby horses, bikes, and your own two feet are welcome to participate in the parade. Feel free to make celebratory signs or dress up in your best rainbow outfit. Join us at Cardinal Spirits at noon. There will be a DJ, cocktails (21+), mocktails, and food trucks. The Bleeding Heartland Roller Derby will help us round up parade participants at about 1:30 when we begin to walk up the B-Line to Fourth Street. The walk is almost one mile so dress comfortably.
Block Party Details:
The queerest block party in Bloomington starts promptly at 2 PM. We'll have two stages, the main stage will be located on the east side of Fourth Street and the second stage located on the west side. There will be live performances and DJs all day long so you can dance your socks off. Educational workshops will take place inside the Hyatt Place Bloomington. In addition to the activities tent, we'll have a rock-climbing wall, dunk tank, inflatable castle, and more! Food trucks will be in Food Truck Village and other food vendors will be placed near the main stage. Alcohol will be located for purchase near the main stage. All informational booths will close at 7:30 PM and vendors will remain open until 11:00 PM.
